005: WSDOT alert for Cowlitz County.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 3 and continuing through Wednesday, Sept. 30: Travelers should plan for intermittent nighttime lane and ramp closures in both directions of I-5 between Rogers Road (Exit 57) and the SR 505 interchange (Exit 63), from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., for paving work.
Reduced speed limits will be in place through the work zone to help keep travelers and crews safe.
Note: The northbound I-5 on-ramp at Exit 59 is closed. Travelers will use Exit 60.

Bridge work on I-5 southbound at milepost 40 near Allen Street. There is an extended closure of the shoulder through the work zone beginning at 4:51 pm on September 3, 2026 until further notice.

004: WSDOT alert for Cowlitz County.
Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Sept. 18: A single lane in both directions of SR 4 between 50th Avenue (milepost 56.4) and 42nd Avenue (milepost 57.2) will be closed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for buried gas main line extension work.
Slow down, stay focused and watch for flaggers direction through the work zone.

Closure
504: WSDOT alert for Cowlitz County.
Beginning Monday, April 27th, 2026, until further notice: Both directions of SR 504 at milepost 45.0 remain CLOSED at the winter gate for construction to rebuild the bridge and roadway. Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2027.
On Sunday, May 14, 2023, a debris slide washed out the Spirit Lake Outlet Bridge and a portion of the highway. The road has been closed since. For the safety of all travelers, there is no access beyond the gate.

Rest Area
504: WSDOT alert for Cowlitz County.
The Forest Learning Center Rest Area on SR 504/Spirit Lake Memorial Highway (milepost 33) is open seasonally during the spring and summer months from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rest Area access and hours may change. Visit the WSDOT Travel Center website for the latest information:
